Business After Hours at Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens

Japanese Gardens make for spectacular After Hours venue

Following days of glorious sunshine, the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens never looked so beautiful as they hosted the May Waterford Chamber Business After Hours, in conjunction with EveryEvent.

A large gathering from the Tramore and Waterford City business communities gathered together for a magical evening of networking, Sake and delicious sushi, compliments of Glorious Sushi, while also experiencing a corporate tour of Tramore’s newest tourist offering.

Opening the event, Waterford Chamber CEO Gerald Hurley said: “It’s wonderful to have a Business After Hours in such a gorgeous location here at Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens.

There has been significant interest in our After Hours events in recent months and it is fantastic to see our members working together to showcase their businesses and tonight is a perfect example of that with EveryEvent adding their special magic to this event.”

Agnes Aylward, who spearheaded the development of the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens, said she is delighted to now have a corporate offering. "We want to show people that we are more than a lovely garden - we are a venue - a space for corporate and creative events and other private functions. Working with Every Event last winter to create 'The Enchanted Garden' opened new doors for us."

John Grubb of EveryEvent said: “We love working with the team at the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens. It’s a very special place and to be allowed to add our creative touches to it is fantastic for us.”

The Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens reflect the life and extensive wanderings of Patrick Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo), who grew up in Ireland, and whose life journey embraced several parts of the world.

Follow Hearn's life journey, first through the Victorian Garden, then to the American and Greek gardens, until you eventually arrive in the Japanese gardens which feature many Japanese plants and Japanese architectural features. The gardens since opening have brought thousands of national and international visitors to Tramore Town Centre. A recent tour of Japanese visitors commented that the gardens were the number one most authentic Japanese Gardens they had seen.
