Founder Friday Waterford, is a free monthly meetup held on the first Friday of every month. Its where people share their story about starting and growing their business. Its an oppportunity to meet and make new connections, share your own story and engage with like minded or not so like minded people, on a similar entrepreneurial path. Founder Friday welcomes everyone with an interest in starting or growing a business including and not limited to techies, designers, filmmakers, foodies, and business folk.

Richard Rodger Author and Co-Founder of

Richard is an expert and thought leader in next generation enterprise software delivery, with a focus on Node.js and microservices. Richard was previously CTO of FeedHenry, a mobile application platform provider that was acquired by RedHat for €63.5m in 2014. Since co-founding nearForm in 2011, the company has become the world’s largest Node.js and microservices consulting company. Richard is currently writing his second book The Tao of Microservices, a comprehensive guide to designing and building microservices systems. Richard has long been an active member and influencer of the open source software (OSS) community specialising in OSS for enterprise. Richard is the host of Dublin Microservices Meetup

Diarmuid Byrne Managing Director and Co-Founder of EquiRatings

Diarmuid, a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, had a keen interest in equestrian sports from an early age. He qualified as a corporate lawyer, working across a number of practice areas, including capital markets and corporate transactions. The growth of the sports data market worldwide led him to co-found EquiRatings with Sam Watson, an Irish International Event Rider and Coder. EquiRatings works with federations globally on safety analysis, high performance analysis and provides data to international media outlets. Diarmuid will share the EquiRatings journey, which is a story about gaining support from Local Enterprise Office, an alumnus of New Frontiers, shortlisted for Irelands Best Young Entrepreneur and securing investment from NDRC.

Jennifer O’Connell Journalist and co-founder of O’Connell Ivory Communications

Jennifer is a national media journalist, who understands that great story telling is at the heart of all communications, no matter what the platform. She has produced content for every possible platform. She is an Irish Times columnist and has written for the Irish Independent, Dow Jones, The Sunday Business Post, Image Magazine and Irish Tatler and she was the founding editor of She has also ghostwritten speeches and op-eds for Silicon Valley CEOs and politicians, edited legal textbooks, produced two critically acclaimed documentary TV series and reported on RTE TV news. Her communication skills brought her to eBay’s global headquarters in Silicon Valley 2015, where she spent 18 months working with their award-winning digital and social communications team.
