Ita Leyden speaks at Construction Health & Safety Conference

Ita Leyden – BE, MSc, C.Eng, CMIOSH, Ergonomist and Forensic Engineer of LCE, recently spoke at the Construction Health & Safety Conference 2017 on Thursday 16th November, at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.

This conference provided essential updates and information to help manage Health and Safety in construction, save lives and reduce injuries.

The speakers on the day offered cutting-edge health and safety advice for senior managers working in construction, using practical examples to illustrate best practice, giving information on new ways to manage health and safety and updates on new regulations and technologies in the industry.

Ita spoke about Health & Safety Legislation covering the following topics:

  • Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations – Definition of Construction Works under the regulations
  • Implications of appointing a PSDP / PSCS at both design and construction stage – What are their responsibilities and obligations
  • Designer, Contractor, Client – required competencies, duties and obligations.
