Womens Wellness Lunch

Athenaeum House Hotel is delighted to announce details of the upcoming Women's Wellness Lunch in Aid of the Shona Project.

The Women’s Wellness Lunch hosted by Athenaeum House Hotel in association with KBC Bank, with guest speakers Dr. Sharon O'Donnell Waterford Medical Centre and Tammy Darcy the Shona Project highlights women’s health and wellness issues.

Dr. Sharon O'Donnell, Waterford Medical Centre is an advocate for women's wellness and healthcare. Over the years she has become known as a source of inspiration and information.

Tammy Darcy from Passage East, Co. Waterford winner of the prestigious Social Entrepreneurs Ireland (SEI) award for The Shona Project. She was awarded the prize at an event at the Mansion House, Dublin on the 4th of October. Founded by Tammy just one year ago, The Shona Project is an innovative support system for young girls living in Ireland. It has already reached over 60,000 girls through its school workshops, online articles and videos.

Speaking at the SEI Awards ceremony Tammy Darcy, Founder, The Shona Project said: "I am thrilled and honoured to receive this award for The Shona Project at such an early stage in our development. I founded The Shona Project because I know that it is tough being a girl in Ireland today. There are so many pressures from school and bullying to low self-esteem and mental health issues.

"I feel very passionate about the importance of instilling confidence in our young women, in giving them positive role models who are praised not for their perfection or the number of likes they have on Instagram but for their achievements and talents. If we want to build tomorrow’s female leaders we need to nurture them. That is what The Shona Project is all about.”

Speaking about the upcoming event which encourages women to time out to invest in their own health on Thursday 16th of November 2017, 12.30pm at the Athenaeum House Hotel with a scrumptious healthy 3 Course Lunch €25. Mailo Power owner of the 4**** Athenaeum House Hotel told us. "We are thrilled to be partnering the Shona Project, Waterford Medical Centre and KBC Bank on this collaborative project that will enhance and enrich the lives of girls locally and throughout Ireland.

What Our Members Say

“Tom Murphy Car Sales Ltd has been a member of Waterford Chamber of Commerce for over 25 years. It’s a membership that serves us well as we find it gives us a platform to interact with similar businesses and puts us in front of a wide audience. Having staged a number of very successful Chamber events, both at our dealership on the Cork Road and at venues chosen by the Chamber, it really puts into perspective the value of networking and meeting with potential customers face to face. We intend to continue the partnership between Waterford Chamber of Commerce and Tom Murphy Car Sales into the future, as the results speak for themselves and we see the value in being a member of Waterford Chamber.”
