Wednesday April 15th at 2pm: Lay-offs and short-time working because of COVID19 – how do I handle it?

COVID-19 has affected every Irish business in one way or another. It’s an unfortunate situation that has led to difficult decisions being made. Among those decisions are whether to place employees on short-time or lay them off temporarily. Should you be faced with having to make such a decision, we want to ensure you make the right call.

That’s why we’re conducting a free e-learning session for employers. This session will last 30 minutes and, among other factors, our expert will cover:

  • What is lay-off?
  • What is short-time working?
  • Notice periods.
  • COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment.

While we hope your business retains its staff and successfully comes through COVID-19, this e-learning session will still provide the tools you need should a lay-off or short-time situation arise.

One of those will be how to manage and motivate your remote workers.

To ensure your employees stay focused and target-driven, we’re conducting a free e-learning session where our expert will explain how to keep your remote workers productive.

  • How to set your employees up to work from home.

What Our Members Say

“Tom Murphy Car Sales Ltd has been a member of Waterford Chamber of Commerce for over 25 years. It’s a membership that serves us well as we find it gives us a platform to interact with similar businesses and puts us in front of a wide audience. Having staged a number of very successful Chamber events, both at our dealership on the Cork Road and at venues chosen by the Chamber, it really puts into perspective the value of networking and meeting with potential customers face to face. We intend to continue the partnership between Waterford Chamber of Commerce and Tom Murphy Car Sales into the future, as the results speak for themselves and we see the value in being a member of Waterford Chamber.”
